Uttarakhand: Mobile science labs will be opened in 13 districts to increase practical knowledge of students in science, technology, engineering and mathematics subjects – CS Radha Raturi

CS Mrs. Radha Raturi has given instructions for regular monitoring of the project “Labs on Wheels” mobile science lab project through dashboard. She has instructed the Director General of Education to issue instructions to all schools in this regard. Chief Secretary Mrs. Radha Raturi, while reviewing the project “Labs on Wheels” mobile science lab, which strengthens science laboratories in schools in rural and remote mountainous areas of the state and connects science and education, has given instructions to operate it in Champawat, Almora, Dehradun and Pauri in the first phase. She has given instructions to specially encourage girls for science education under this project. The government has released an amount of Rs. 5 crore for the project “Labs on Wheels” mobile science lab. Mobile science labs will be operated under the Labs on Wheels project in 13 districts to increase practical knowledge in science, technology, engineering and mathematics subjects among students of classes 6 to 10 in the state. Initially, after successful operation of the program for six months in four districts of Champawat, Almora, Dehradun and Pauri, this project will be operated in all the districts.

Chief Secretary Mrs. Radha Raturi has directed that science laboratories in schools of rural and remote mountainous areas of the state should be strengthened through mobile science labs under Project Labs on Wheels and work should be done towards popularizing science and promoting science communication activities along with supplementing science and education. She has also directed to develop experiential skills in Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics curriculum among students through practical demonstrations/models activities and demonstrations and to encourage practical education.

Chief Secretary Mrs. Radha Raturi has directed to screen science films for students in remote and rural mountainous areas of the state under Labs on Wheels, live sky observation from telescope, organizing science fairs and workshops, organizing innovation fairs and organizing training and workshops for teachers.

The support of Agasthya Foundation Bangalore is being taken for the ambitious project of the State Government and UCOST Council, Labs on Wheels Mobile Science Lab.

Additional Secretary Mrs. Ranjana Rajguru, Director General Mr. Banshidhar Tiwari, UCOST Director General Prof. Durgesh Pant and the founder of Agasthya Foundation were present in the meeting.

Uttarakhand is ready to implement new criminal laws – CS Radha Raturi

Uttarakhand’s preparations for the three new criminal laws to be implemented across the country from July 1, 2024 have been completed. Uttarakhand Chief Secretary Radha Raturi gave this information today in a video conferencing with all the states under the chairmanship of the Home Secretary, Government of India. Mrs. Radha Raturi said that the state of Uttarakhand has made full preparations for the 3 new criminal laws Indian Civil Security Code 2023, Indian Justice Code 2023, Indian Security Act 2023 to be implemented from July 1, 2024.

Uttarakhand Chief Secretary Radha Raturi said that after the passage of the new criminal laws, we have coordinated with the Central Detective Training Institute (CDTI) and Bureau of Police Research and Development (BPR&D) and 50 officers from PTC / ATC and other training centers have been given a master trainer course from Ghaziabad and Jaipur. Along with this, Uttarakhand Police Handbook has been prepared, on the basis of which all the courses are being conducted. In this, a method has been prepared to read major laws in a simple way. A copy of which is being distributed to all police officers/employees.

State Chief Secretary Radha Raturi also informed that in a short period, training was decentralized at the district level. Such employees who do not have direct interference in police investigation, have been given training in online mode, for which an online module was prepared, which is AI based.

Chief Secretary Radha Raturi said that about 1000 recruit constables of Civil Police/PAC operating in RTC’s have been given 03 days training. Apart from this, about 500 head constables have also been given training on new criminal laws for promotion. All IPS officers and Senior Superintendents of Police of districts were given training by Assistant Professor of National Law University, New Delhi. Training has been conducted in both offline and online mode for training on new criminal laws. All police personnel have been registered on the iGOT Karmayogi portal.

Director General of Police Mr. Abhinav Kumar, Secretary Mr. Dilip Jawalkar and other Home Department officials were present in the meeting.
