Uttarakhand: The administration rescued 106 pilgrims stranded on the Madmaheshwar Yatra route safely

The district administration team has safely rescued 106 pilgrims stranded in Madmaheshwar valley by helicopter. Due to heavy rains, the bridge connecting the footpath at Bantoli village of Gaundar was washed away. Due to which 106 passengers were stranded there. On receiving the information, the rescue team reached the spot and carried out the rescue operation of all the passengers under the supervision of the District Magistrate.

District Disaster Management Officer Rudraprayag Nandan Singh Rajwar, while giving information, said that 106 passengers stranded on the Madmaheshwar Yatra route were rescued through heli services under the supervision of Rudraprayag DM Dr. Saurabh Gaharwar. Due to heavy rains late last night, the pedestrian bridge on the Markandeya (Morkanda) river at Bantoli Gaundar on the Madmaheshwar temple track was washed away, due to which the connectivity with the area was disrupted.

Passengers expressed gratitude

As soon as the information was received, the rescue team and district administration officials and employees left for the spot under the direction of Rudraprayag District Magistrate Saurabh Gaharwar. DM Saurabh Gaharwar himself was present on the spot during the entire rescue operation. After the successful rescue of passengers stranded in Madmaheshwar Valley, all the pilgrims expressed their gratitude to DM Saurabh Gaharwar and the entire rescue team.
