The population of Chauphala, Kathgharia, Kamaluwaganja, Ghuni, Bhagwanpur and Ramni will be benefited by increasing the width of the road due to covering and strengthening of the canal. In the meeting, the CS also directed to pay special attention to ground water recharge and plantation during the construction of the scheme. The construction period of the scheme has been proposed to be 12 months. The cost of this scheme is Rs 1245.64 lakh.
Haldwani city traffic will be reduced
Chief Secretary Radha Raturi said that by covering the canal and widening the road from Coltax-Panchakki to Chaufula-Kathghariya, this road will act as a 2 lane bypass. As a result, it will prove useful for the passengers going from Nainital to Delhi-Dehradun via Bajpur-Ramnagar, Corbett National Park. This can reduce the traffic of Haldwani city.
