Uttarakhand / Champawat: A school going girl was kidnapped and molested, she reached home in a distraught state, police is investigating the case
A case has come to light in Lohaghat where a girl going to school was kidnapped and molested by some miscreants after making her inhale intoxicating substance. After this incident, there is panic in the area. There is anger among the local people after this incident which happened in broad daylight.
Molested after kidnapping a girl going to school
According to the information received, a girl student in Lohaghat had left for school in the morning. On the way, some people kidnapped her and molested her. The family told the police that their daughter had left for school in the morning. But she did not reach school. When she did not reach school, the school management informed the family about it.
The family was shocked to hear this. The family was searching for the girl student when in a short while the girl student reached home in a distraught state. When the family members questioned the girl student, she told her ordeal. After which the family members took her to the hospital. The condition of the minor is said to be critical.
Police is investigating the matter
Police has registered a case against unknown persons on the complaint of the family members. It is being told that there were three to four accused. A case has been registered against unknown persons under sections 123 and 74 of POCSO and BNS. Police has started searching for the accused. Police says that all the CCTVs of the city are being scanned. Along with this, the suspects are being questioned.
The matter will be known after the medical report comes
Medical Superintendent of Sub District Hospital Dr. Sonali Mandal said that the student had said that she was made to smell an intoxicating substance. Therefore, a sample of the intoxicating substance made the student smell has been taken and it will be sent for examination. She said that the matter will be known properly only after the medical report comes.
