Manoj Kumar again became the acting Chief Justice of Uttarakhand HC, SC collegium has sent recommendation for permanent CJ

Senior Justice Manoj Kumar Tiwari of Uttarakhand High Court has become the Acting Chief Justice of the High Court for the second time. His tenure will be effective from October 11. The current Chief Justice of the High Court, Justice Ritu Bahri, is retiring on October 10.
Justice Manoj Tiwari has been the Acting Chief Justice of the High Court before this as well. Then he became the Acting Chief Justice after the retirement of Justice Vipin Sanghi. Senior Justice Tiwari was born in the year 1965 in Pithoragarh district of Uttarakhand.
Senior Justice Tiwari’s father, late NB Tiwari, was a senior advocate of the High Court and his grandfather was also a lawyer in Pithoragarh. Senior Justice Tiwari studied till 10th in Kendriya Vidyalaya, Pithoragarh. After this, he also did his PG from Pithoragarh. Senior Justice Tiwari came to Delhi to do LLB. Senior Justice Tiwari did LLB from Delhi in the year 1990.
Senior Justice Tiwari started his advocacy from Allahabad High Court. He came here after the formation of Uttarakhand. Tiwari became a senior advocate in 2009 and a High Court judge in 2017. On September 24, the Supreme Court Collegium sent a recommendation to the Central Government to appoint Justice Narendra Ji of the Andhra Pradesh High Court as the Chief Justice of the High Court, but the Central Government has not yet given its recommendation. That is why now senior judge Justice Manoj Kumar Tiwari has become the acting Chief Justice of Uttarakhand High Court.
