Uttarakhand: The election program for Kedarnath by-election will be something like this, District Magistrate Saurabh Gaharwar gave information

The dates for the by-election to be held for Kedarnath assembly have been announced. Voting will be held on November 20 and counting will be done on November 23. While the election related notification will be issued on October 22. District Election Officer Saurabh Gaharwar gave information related to the election program of Kedarnath by-election.

The election program for Kedarnath by-election will be something like this

District Election Officer, District Magistrate Saurabh Gaharwar said that the Election Commission of India has announced the program for the 07- Kedarnath assembly election of Rudraprayag district of Uttarakhand state. Under which 22 October is the date of issuing notification and 29 October is the last date for submitting nomination papers. Nomination papers will be scrutinized on 30 October. The last date for withdrawal of nomination has been fixed on November 4. Voting will be held on November 20 and counting will be done on November 23.

District Magistrate Saurabh Gaharwar gave information

District Election Officer Saurabh Gaharwar said that the Commission has also directed that the said by-election will be conducted on the basis of the photo electoral roll published on 22 January 2024 on the basis of the eligibility date of January 1, 2024. However, the process of continuous updating of the electoral roll will continue till the last date of filing nomination. EVMs and VVPATs will be used in the said by-election.

He said that the Commission has mentioned that the voter identity card with photo will be the main document for the identification of the voter during the election. The voter registered in the electoral roll will not be deprived of his voting rights and the following alternative documents can be presented by the Commission for his identification. In which you can exercise your voting rights on the basis of documents like Aadhar card, MNREGA job card, passbook issued by bank or post office, health insurance smart card issued under the Labor Ministry scheme, driving license, PAN card etc.

There are 173 polling stations in Kedarnath Assembly

The District Magistrate said that the Model Code of Conduct has come into effect in the district with immediate effect. Candidates contesting the by-election will have to publish and broadcast information about their criminal background in newspapers and television channels three times in the prescribed format as per the Commission’s guidelines.

Let us tell you that there are 173 polling stations in the Kedarnath Assembly by-election. There are 90 thousand, five hundred 40 voters in total. Which includes 44 thousand 7 hundred 65 male and 45 thousand 7 hundred 75 female voters. He said that two zonal magistrates and seven sector magistrates have been deployed in Kedarnath Assembly.

Posters and banners will have to be removed within 24 hours

The District Magistrate said that all types of banners, posters, pamphlets, flags, hoardings, wall paintings will have to be removed from any government office, premises, building etc. within 24 hours of the announcement of election by the Commission. Along with this, within 48 hours, all types of unauthorized political posters, banners etc. will have to be removed from various public properties like bus stands, roadways, government buses, electric telephones, municipal councils etc. All types of unauthorized political propaganda material will have to be removed from various private properties within 72 hours of the announcement of the election program.
