Uttarakhand: Fake currency racket busted, 7 arrested with fake currency worth lakhs

A big case of supply of fake notes from West Bengal to Uttarakhand has come to light in Haldwani. Police has exposed the fake notes business in Haldwani. Nainital Police has disclosed the whole case and arrested seven accused and recovered fake notes worth three lakh seven thousand rupees.

Fake notes business exposed

Police has exposed the fake notes business in Haldwani. SSP, while exposing the fake notes business, said that on October 9, a jeweler named Shubham Verma, resident of Lalkuan, was arrested. Fake notes were recovered from him. When Shubham Verma was interrogated, many shocking revelations were made. After which the fake notes business has been exposed.

Fake notes consignment is brought from West Bengal

During interrogation, it was found that many people are involved in the fake notes business. After which the police arrested six more people after interrogating different people and recovered Rs 2 lakh 98 thousand from their possession. During interrogation it was revealed that the consignment of fake notes is brought from Malda in West Bengal to Uttarakhand and is used in different areas.

All the accused of the gang supplying fake notes arrested

Investigation revealed that a huge amount of money has been transacted from the account of the main accused Shubham Verma who deals in fake notes. SSP Prahlad Meena said that all the seven accused of the gang supplying fake notes have been arrested and sent to jail after registering a case against them under various sections. Apart from this, an attempt has been made to spoil the economy of the country through fake notes, which has also been informed to the central agency and it will investigate it further.
