Uttarakhand: Administration came into action after Dehradun accident, police launched drunk and drive campaign
After the dangerous accident in Dehradun, the police of all the districts have come into action. Nainital Police is also running a campaign against drunk drivers. Police has arrested two drivers and seized their vehicles. Along with this, the drivers’ DLs have also been cancelled.
Nainital Police launched Drunk and Drive campaign
After the instructions of DGP Abhinav Kumar, Nainital SSP Prahlad Narayan Meena has directed the concerned officials of Nainital Police to run an intensive checking campaign to curb road accidents. After which the police is running an intensive checking campaign against drunk and drive vehicles. Along with this, the drivers are being checked through an alcohol meter.
Challan of two youths cut
Under the leadership of Police Station Head Kathgodam, the Chowki Malla Kathgodam Chowki In-charge, during checking in the area, found a motorcycle driver Kannu Giri resident of Nainital and a scooter driver Aman Kumar resident of Udham Singh Nagar driving vehicles in an inebriated state. The police stopped both of them at Malla Kathgodam, checked them with an alcohol meter, got their medical tests done and arrested them under the MV Act.
