Sports Minister Rekha Arya today reached Premnagar Ashram in Haridwar and inaugurated the National Grappling Competition. During this, Rekha Arya said that for the first time a grappling competition has been organized at such a large level, which is a big opportunity for the players of the state.

The Sports Minister said that our government is constantly working for the upliftment and all-round development of the players, as a result of which there has been a big social change regarding sports today. Earlier people used to feel insecure about the future in the field of sports, but since PM Modi honored the players and gave them a new identity and PM Modi is directly communicating with the players performing at the national and international level, the players are getting encouraged by this.
Our players are going global from local: Minister
Minister Rekha Arya said that the result of this social change is that today a player has gone global from local. Now the era has come where a nation is identified by the name of its player. The minister said that grappling has made a lot of progress in these three years of its existence. Especially our national team has waved its flag with full force.
Grappling will be included in the Olympics in future: Minister
Sports Minister Rekha Arya expressed hope from the players that in the near future it should be included in big events like National Games, Asian Games and Olympics. The minister thanked the Grappling Committee of India for organizing the grappling event in Uttarakhand.
