Maharashtra: ‘How can this happen… mother, wife, daughter did not vote for me’, MNS candidate got only two votes at one booth

After the crushing defeat of Mahavikas Aghadi in the Maharashtra assembly elections, now a question mark is being raised on EVM machines. The leaders of Mahavikas Aghadi have blamed EVMs for the victory of Mahayuti. MP Sanjay Raut has demanded re-election citing EVM malfunction in many constituencies. On the other hand, MNS candidate from Dahisar assembly constituency Rajesh Yerunkar has expressed doubts on EVMs that he did not get votes even from his house. –
Rajesh Yerunkar alleged that in the voting for the assembly elections, the votes cast and EVMs did not match at many places. Out of the total 288 constituencies in the state, there was a big difference between the voting done in EVMs on the day of election on November 20 and the actual voting done with the same EVMs on November 23 in 95 constituencies. Less votes were found in EVMs in a total of 76 constituencies of the state. While more votes were found in 19 constituencies and in 193 constituencies there was no difference between the votes found in EVMs during polling and counting. Let us tell you that BJP’s Manisha Chaudhary won in Dahisar assembly constituency.
At the same time, MNS candidate Rajesh Yerunkar got 5456 votes. Yerunkar said that only two votes were received at a booth located where he lives. Talking about this, MNS candidate from Dahisar assembly constituency Rajesh Yerunkar has raised three questions. First, there are three seals in EVM machines. Second, when the charging of the machine was checked, some machines were charging 99 percent, some 70 percent and some 60 percent. When the machine has been running for such a long time, how can the charging remain 99 percent? This is also a question.
Rajesh Yerunkar raised the third question and said, ‘I am a local resident here, and there are four votes in my house – me, my wife, my daughter and my mother… in such a situation I got only two votes.’ He questioned, how is it possible that his mother or wife or daughter did not vote for him? He raised questions on EVM and said, where did the votes of his party workers go?
61 percent people like EVM
At present, after any election in India, the opposition parties have been raising doubts about EVM machines. For this reason, the YouGov-Mint-CPR Millennial Survey was conducted in July 2024. Congress and BJP supporters were included in this survey. At the same time, the opinion of people not associated with any political party was also sought in this survey. In this survey, 61 percent people said that EVM should be used for voting. Along with this, he also said that no tampering can be done in it. Whereas 39 per cent people have given preference to ballot paper and have demanded to introduce ballot paper system in place of EVM.
