Central government approves PAN 2.0 and One Nation One Subscription, three major railway projects also approved

The Union Cabinet took several important decisions in the meeting on Monday. In the meeting, the PAN 2.0 scheme costing Rs 1435 crore was approved. Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that PAN card is a part of our life. It is important for the middle class and small business. It has been upgraded. Under this, cards will be advanced without changing the number of the existing PAN. New PAN cards will have QR code. Online process will be adopted for this. There will be no separate fee for this. The data in the new PAN will be completely safe. He also said that a grievance redressal mechanism will be prepared.

Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that three major projects of Railways have been approved in the meeting. The 160 km long Manmad-Jalgaon fourth line will be built. This will save eight crore liters of diesel every year. On the other hand, in the second project, work will be done on the third and fourth line from 131 km long Bhusaval to Khandwa. This will increase the capacity between Purvanchal and Mumbai. Apart from this, the third project includes the 84 km long Prayagraj (Iradatganj)-Manikpur third line. A total of Rs 7,927 crore will be spent on these projects. This will generate employment and help farmers, small industries.

These projects will cover seven districts of three states

These projects will cover seven districts of three states – Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh and will expand the existing network of Indian Railways by about 639 km. Apart from this, these projects of railways will also improve the connectivity of two districts Khandwa and Chitrakoot, which will facilitate about 1,319 villages and about 38 lakh people.

According to the press release, the proposed projects will increase connectivity on the Mumbai-Prayagraj-Varanasi route by operating additional passenger trains, which will benefit pilgrims visiting Jyotirlingas in Nashik (Trimbakeshwar), Khandwa (Omkareshwar) and Varanasi (Kashi Vishwanath) as well as religious places in Prayagraj, Chitrakoot, Gaya and Shirdi.

Students will be able to get international journals

Vaishnav said that a big decision has been taken for the youth and students. The Cabinet has approved the One Nation One Subscription scheme. A total of 30 major international journal publishers have been included in this scheme costing Rs 6,000 crore. In this, subscription of about 13,000 e-journals will be taken and made available to students, faculty and researchers. These resources will be shared by more than 6,300 government higher education institutions and research and development institutes of the central government.

Second edition of Atal Innovation Mission approved

Ashwini Vaishnav said that the Union Cabinet has approved Atal Innovation Mission 2.0 at a cost of Rs 2750 crore. Atal Innovation Mission was started in India to bring the youth forward in innovation and entrepreneurship. We came to know that the local language was not included in the first version of Atal Innovation Mission. So we have implemented Atal Innovation Mission 2.0. Under this, 30 such innovation centers will be opened which will work in local language. —

Natural farming will be promoted

The Union Cabinet took a big step and approved the National Natural Farming Mission of Rs 2,481 crore. Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that the NDA government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is working for the welfare of farmers. The National Natural Farming Mission (NMNF) aims to motivate one crore farmers towards natural and fertilizer-free farming. This scheme will create an environment for sustainable farming along with improving the health of the soil and reducing the cost. Currently, natural farming is being done on about 10 lakh hectares of land across the country. In the total outlay of this scheme of Rs 2,481 crore, the share of the Government of India is Rs 1,584 crore and the share of the states is Rs 897 crore. In the meeting, two hydropower projects were approved in Arunachal Pradesh. Rs 3,689 crore will be spent on this.
