Google Map deceived me, I had to go from Bihar to Goa, but ended up in a dense forest and had to spend the night there
After the death of three people travelling in a car with the help of Google Map in Bareilly, UP, now two people had to spend the whole night in a dense and dangerous forest due to the mistake of Google Maps. In Belgaum district of Karnataka, two people travelling through Google Maps got the wrong route, after which they got stuck in the forest.
In fact, trusting Google Maps in Bhimgarh forest area in Khanpur proved costly for two people. The navigation app suggested a short route passing through the forest near Shiroli and Hemmadaga to these two people going from Bihar to Goa. Unknowingly, it went 7-8 kilometers deep into the forest and remained stuck there overnight. Due to lack of mobile network in this dense forest, he became completely helpless. He made many attempts to get out, but did not succeed. After this, he had no option but to spend the night in his car.
The next morning, he got network after walking 4 kilometers
The next morning, he walked about 4 kilometers and found a place where network was available. On getting the network, they immediately contacted the emergency helpline 112. On receiving the information, the local police swung into action and took them out of the forest safely.
People avoided going on unknown paths
The police also informed that the use of these forest paths is dangerous for normal vehicles and people often get stuck in such problems due to shortcuts given on Google Maps. This incident has proved that blindly trusting digital navigation apps can be risky. The police has advised people to be cautious and ask the local people before going on unknown paths.
