Uttarakhand: In Dehradun action against illegal madrassas; People of Muslim community protested and demonstrated outside DM office
MDDA’s action against illegal madrasas is continuing in Dehradun. Meanwhile, people of the Muslim community demonstrated outside the DM office today. During the demonstration, when the situation worsened, the police took some people into custody.
People of the Muslim community came in protest against the action against illegal madrasas
According to MDDA officials, the madrasas against which action was taken did not have the map approved for their construction. Due to which they come under the illegal category. Thousands of people from the Muslim community reached the District Magistrate’s office today in protest against the action and accused the administration of taking unilateral action.
Police detained the protesters
The Muslim community says that such action has been taken deliberately in the holy month of Ramadan. Due to which the religious sentiments of the community are being hurt. After the matter escalated, the police took some people into custody.
