Uttarakhand: Dhami reached the Disaster Operations Center to review the preparations for the monsoon season, instructed the officials to be prepared in emergency situations

Monsoon is going to knock in Uttarakhand soon. Due to which the Uttarakhand government is busy preparing for the monsoon. The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert regarding heavy rains in the state of Uttarakhand for the next few days. In view of which Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami held a meeting with all the District Magistrates and departmental officials in the Disaster Management Department on Saturday.
During the meeting, CM Dhami has given strict instructions to deliver JCB within 15 minutes to the site of incident during any landslide emergency during monsoon. Along with this, instructions have also been given to prepare a landslide map of the state. During the meeting, CM Dhami instructed the officials to conduct a safety audit of all the bridges in the state before the rains and the concerned secretary should immediately conduct an inspection tour to review the patch work of Haldwani to Kainchidham, Almora-Pithoragarh route and all the bridges in the state. In view of the monsoon season and medical emergency, instructions have been given to immediately replace the old ambulance vehicles.
The CM has also directed to arrange an additional helicopter in Pithoragarh in view of a situation like medical emergency. He directed to expedite the proceedings related to construction of helipad and airport in Pithoragarh. The CM has instructed the Education Department and District Magistrates to identify dilapidated schools during the monsoon and stop the studies of the students in them and make arrangements for shelter with immediate effect. The Chief Minister has directed to verify sensitive places like schools, hospitals, ashrams in the next three days from the security point of view. Along with this, he has asked to take action to remove silt regularly while regularly monitoring the water bodies.
After the meeting, Additional Chief Executive Officer of USDMA Rajkumar Negi said that CM Dhami has held a meeting with all the District Magistrates and Nodal Officers of the state. So far five rounds of meetings have been held regarding preparations for the monsoon. Under which works have been done to build shelters at the district level, clean the drains, availability of food items, health facilities, deployment of teams. Along with this, in view of the disaster, a strategy has been made from the district level to the government level, agencies of the Government of India, Air Force and Army along with other agencies. There are a total of 40 SDRF teams in Uttarakhand, 12 NDRF teams as well as a special team of NDRF related to flood protection.
He told that before the monsoon, 21 teams of SDRF are deployed in various parts of the state. Special teams of SDRF are deployed in view of the monsoon. SDRF and NDRF are deployed along with the water police in the areas of Udham Singh Nagar, Banbasa, Champawat, Haldwani and Haridwar. Water police teams are already deployed with full equipment.
