US President Donald Trump, who has been constantly giving himself credit for the India-Pakistan ceasefire, has once again backtracked. The US President has accepted for the first time that the decision to stop the conflict after the Indian Army’s Operation Sindoor was taken by the leaders of Pakistan and India themselves. There was no US interference in this.

Now US President Donald Trump has surprised once again. After a phone conversation with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he has accepted for the first time that the US had no role in ending the military conflict between India and Pakistan. Trump has not taken credit for the first time for the shelling that stopped on May 10 after the Indian Army’s Operation Sindoor on the intervening night of May 6-7. He said that the leaders of both countries – Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Pakistan’s Army Chief General Asim Munir – should get the credit for this. According to reports, Trump made this comment while talking to the media after a lunch meeting with Pakistan Army Field Marshal General Munir at the White House.

The conflict between the two countries could have turned into a nuclear war
Trump said he was “honored” to meet General Munir. He also thanked the Pakistani army chief for deciding not to go to war. He said that both the “very smart” leaders of India and Pakistan were able to decide not to escalate the war. Trump also said that the conflict between the two countries could have turned into a nuclear war as both countries are nuclear powers.

PM Modi stopped the war, he is a wonderful person
Trump also said that he is working on a trade agreement with both India and Pakistan. He described Modi as a “wonderful person” and also said that he was the one who stopped the war, although he regretted that there was no media report on this. Trump also claimed that Pakistan’s army chief General Munir played an important role in stopping the conflict from Pakistan’s side. According to Trump, the leaders of both the countries and their officials took a wise decision to keep the situation under control.

Ceasefire on the evening of 10 May, after which Trump was seen competing to take credit on many occasions
Let us tell you that Trump was seen competing to take credit on many occasions after the ceasefire on 10 May. He said that he convinced the leaders of India and Pakistan to stop the firing by citing the continuation of trade. However, India strongly denied it many times. Apart from the ministers and MPs, the Ministry of External Affairs also clarified that the India-Pakistan conflict was stopped only after the talks between the military directors general (DGMO) of both the countries and the direct appeal made by Pakistan. It is not right to include things like mediation of a third country or other aspects in this.
