Uttarakhand: Anganwadi centers of Pauri will be made smart, DM gave instructions

Pauri District Magistrate Swati S. Bhadoria reviewed the central and state funded schemes run by the Women Empowerment and Child Development Department on Thursday. During this, the DM directed the officials to make the Anganwadi centers smart. The DM clearly said that no Anganwadi center should remain closed.
Anganwadi centers of Pauri will be made smart
During the meeting, the District Magistrate instructed all the Child Development Project Officers that basic facilities like round tables, small chairs, teaching learning material and nutrition garden should be available for children in Anganwadi centers at all costs. He also instructed the District Program Officer to coordinate with the District Supply Officer to ensure the availability of cooking gas.
Anganwadi centers will be decorated with solar lights and paintings on the walls
District Magistrate Swati Bhadoria said that solar energy should be used in centers where there is no electricity facility. Also, attractive paintings related to children’s education and entertainment should be done on the walls so that the environment is in accordance with child psychology. The District Magistrate directed to prepare 3-D design for new Anganwadi buildings.
Construction work of 237 Anganwadi buildings is going on in the district
The DM gave clear instructions that the repair of the buildings should not be limited to external decoration, but toilets, drinking water, kitchen and suitable space for children’s activities should also be included. The DM said that at present the construction work of 237 Anganwadi buildings is in progress in the district, regarding this, the officials have been instructed to complete the construction work as soon as possible.
60 centers will be ideal in the first phase
The DM said that in the first phase, 60 Anganwadi centers will be equipped with excellent facilities. There will be complete arrangements for education, nutrition and sports in these. In future, this model will also be expanded to other centers. The DM directed that ‘Pratibha Diwas’ should be celebrated once a month in every Anganwadi center, so that the hidden talent of the children can come to the fore and their confidence can increase.
