Irresponsible… AAIB reprimanded foreign media for reporting on Ahmedabad plane crash

India’s Civil Aviation Ministry has reprimanded foreign media reports related to the Ahmedabad plane crash, calling them ‘irresponsible’. The Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) of the Civil Aviation Ministry said that it is not appropriate to spread unnecessary fear or anxiety among the public in this difficult time. Since its formation in 2012, AAIB has successfully investigated 92 accidents and 111 serious incidents. The accident of Air India’s B787-8 aircraft VT-ANB is one of the most serious plane accidents in recent years. It is being investigated very professionally and under international rules. It is not appropriate to spread unnecessary fear or anxiety among the public at this difficult time, especially when some facts are coming out without confirmation. ALPA India had said in a statement that pilots are trained professionals who take care of the lives of hundreds of people with dedication and dignity. The crew of AI 171 made every effort to ensure the safety of the passengers on board the plane till their last breath. They deserve respect and should not be baselessly criticized.
