After the Pahalgam terror attack, India has adopted an aggressive policy against terrorism. In Operation Sindoor, destroying terrorist hideouts by crossing the border was a part of this. During this time, India took many strict steps. At the same time, now India is planning to adopt a ‘new war doctrine’ to deal with terrorism.

India had given indications of this new doctrine at the time of Operation Sindoor itself, under which any terrorist attack in India will be considered an ‘act of war’ i.e. war against the country.

Rules will be made under the leadership of CDS

Pakistan has always attacked secretly by giving shelter to terrorism. But now India has planned to adopt a ‘new war doctrine’ to tighten the noose on Pakistan’s nefarious activities. That plan will be given an interim form under the leadership of the Chief of Defense Staff (CDS). This doctrine will be implemented in a systematic manner.

What did CDS say on Vijay Diwas?

Indian Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi said in a program organized in Ladakh during Kargil Vijay Diwas-

Responding to the enemy will now be a new normal. Operation Sindoor has given a direct message to Pakistan that even the masters of terror will not be spared now.

Army’s action mode

Under the new doctrine, preventive action will now be taken instead of strategic restraint. For example, instead of taking action after the attack, strict steps will be taken in advance, so that terrorist attacks can be thwarted. This will include steps like proactive deterrence, preemptive strikes and preventive action.

  1. The ‘Future Warfare Analysis Group’ will understand the methods of war and prepare new planning accordingly.
  2. A new training system, modernization and operational planning will be made in the army.
  3. India will respond to terrorist attacks on its own terms. For example, the army will choose the day, date, time and place of the attack.
  4. The government that shelters the terrorists will be accountable for the attack. There will be no distinction between terrorism and the masters who shelter them.
  5. India will not be intimidated by Pakistan’s nuclear threats. The Indian army will be free to exercise nuclear restraint as well as to adopt all kinds of options.
