Families pack up camp when threatened
These nomadic families are said to camp in a city or district and commit crimes. After committing a crime, they pack up camp. Furthermore, the earning member or head of the family does not maintain direct contact with the family via phone. If he does not return for a few days, the remaining family members dismantle the tent and move on. After the threat is over, they reconnect with the family through other people.

Chhaimars conduct recce during the day, commit crimes at night
Iftekar’s gang is sometimes called Chhaimar, sometimes Kanjad, and sometimes Gidhiya. Following the UP Police’s crackdown, they have moved to Maharashtra and Rajasthan, but even today, gang members often make headlines due to encounters or convictions. Women are also part of the gang. They conduct reconnaissance during the day and commit crimes at night.
Retired Inspector Gajendra Tyagi, who served for a long time in Bareilly, explains that gang members set up camps at various locations and perform tricks and entertainment. Women also perform jobs like rolling puris at weddings. During the day, they roam around under the guise of hawking, identifying homes where elderly people or few people live. The gang commits crimes at night. They choose cities and towns far or nearby from their camp for their crimes. They rarely use mobile phones.
Report filed with the Human Rights Commission
SSP Anurag Arya stated that the full details, evidence, and report of the encounter have been sent to the State Human Rights Commission and the government. The file has also been filed there. The family of the deceased is being searched for.
