In a major crackdown on herb smuggling, the Mori police station in Uttarkashi arrested two smugglers. Police recovered a large quantity of banned herbs, including Meda and Panja.
Two smugglers arrested with valuable herbs
According to information, during a check at the Kunara intersection on the Mori-Netwad road late on October 11th, a police team stopped a suspicious vehicle. During the search, two individuals, Rajendra Singh (38), a resident of Jakhol village, and Surat Singh (46), a resident of Liwadi, recovered 152 kg of banned Meda and 15 kg of Panja herbs.
Case registered against the accused
According to police, the two accused were collecting herbs from the forests of Liwadi and Mori with the intention of selling them in Dehradun. Police seized and seized the vehicle. A case has been registered against the accused under the Indian Forest Act. Police stated that further legal action is underway in the matter.
