Russian forces have targeted Kharkiv, Ukraine’s second-largest city. Overnight, they launched powerful glide bombs and drone strikes, hitting a hospital. Seven people were injured. A power plant was also damaged, causing power outages for approximately 30,000 people.

Ukraine Demands Long-Range Missiles
The attack comes as Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is scheduled to meet with US President Donald Trump in Washington on Friday. Their talks are expected to focus on long-range missiles. Ukraine has long sought long-range Tomahawk missiles.

Regional head Oleh Synihubov said on Tuesday that the city’s main hospital was hit in a Russian attack on northeastern Kharkiv, forcing the evacuation of 50 patients.

Zelensky Said This
Zelensky stated that the attacks primarily targeted power plants. Although he did not provide any details about the damage, the Ukrainian president said on Telegram, “Every day, every night, Russia is targeting our energy plants, power lines, and gas plants.”

He has appealed to other countries to provide more air defense systems to deter Russia’s long-range attacks. Zelensky said, “We trust the United States, Europe, the G-7, and all partners who have these systems to supply them to protect our people.”

Odessa Mayor’s Citizenship Revoked
According to Reuters, Ukrainian President Zelensky on Tuesday revoked the citizenship of Odessa Mayor Hennadiy Trukhanov. Ukraine’s security service said the move was taken because Trukhanov is a Russian citizen.
