Pakistan continues to plot against its neighbors, and the situation in its tribal areas is rapidly deteriorating. The Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and its affiliated terrorist organizations have now gained such a strong hold in several districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) bordering Afghanistan that the movement of the Pakistani army has become impossible. According to intelligence sources, the TTP has captured large areas around the Durand Line.

Areas like Khyber, Kurram, North and South Waziristan, and Bajaur have become no-go zones for the Pakistani army. Sources say that the TTP has openly set up checkpoints in these areas, where its fighters are inspecting vehicles and verifying people’s identity cards. On routes like the Peshawar-Khyber Road, the Hangur-Khurram Corridor, and Bannu-Dera Ismail Khan, fighters are even accepting money in the name of jihad. The terrorists themselves have released videos showing them patrolling the streets with weapons and manning posts.

An Open Challenge to Pakistan

This move by the TTP is an open challenge to the Pakistani government and Army Chief Asim Munir. Intelligence agencies have warned that the TTP is now expanding its base from its traditional mountainous and rural areas to the outskirts of Peshawar. Reports indicate that TTP networks are active in the Badaber, Mattani, and Bara Road areas. From here, they are raising funds, storing weapons, and conducting new recruitment drives. Security agencies say this situation poses a serious threat to Pakistan’s urban security system. With the removal of police checkpoints, the TTP has established a shadow administrative structure in the Khyber-Mohammed belt.

This is what Afghanistan was like in 2021!

The images from Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are similar to what the Taliban did in Afghanistan before 2021. Similarly, the TTP is gradually expanding into urban areas after seizing rural areas. Sources indicate that Pakistani Army personnel are now hesitant to conduct operations in these densely populated areas due to the rising number of casualties and the increasing inclination of tribal people towards the TTP. It is reported that many soldiers of Punjabi origin have refused to deploy in these sensitive areas, forcing the army to adopt a defensive stance.

According to intelligence sources, Pakistan is currently facing the most serious internal security challenge in recent history. Terrorists openly brandishing weapons, dancing, and collecting funds on the streets are exposing the harsh reality that Pakistan is losing control of its own northwestern region.
