Uttarakhand: Sparsh Himalaya Festival 2025 to be held in Dehradun from November 3-5, with participation of writers and artists from 60 countries

India’s first “writers’ village,” located in the serene and sacred valleys of Devbhoomi, Uttarakhand, is once again in the news. The three-day Sparsh Himalaya Festival 2025 is scheduled to be held here from November 3rd to 5th, 2025.
Writers and artists from 60 countries will participate in the “Sparsh Himalaya Festival 2025”
This grand event is being organized under the guidance of former Union Minister Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal “Nishank” and under the auspices of the Sparsh Himalaya Foundation. Writers, artists, academics, environmentalists, and young creatives from over 60 countries will participate in this festival, spreading the message of Indianness and creativity to the world.
Karnataka Governor to Inaugurate the Event
Karnataka Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot will inaugurate the event on November 3rd. The theme of the day will be the global expansion of Indian literature, culture, and art. Writers from India and abroad will share their views on Indian culture at the inauguration. Padmashree Kailash Kher will deliver a captivating performance at the event. In the evening, a special planetarium session will be organized for participants to enjoy the starry view under the open sky in the lap of the Himalayas.
Former President of Mauritius to attend the event
On November 4th, former President of Mauritius Prithviraj Singh Roopun, Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal, and Dr. Jitendra Singh will participate in the event. The focus of the day will be on “Making Hindi a Global Language” and “New Vision of Indian Culture.” In the evening, students from the Doon Cultural School will perform folk dances and a theatrical performance by students from Sparsh Himalayan University.
CM Dhami and the Governor will conclude the festival
On November 5th, the festival will conclude in the presence of Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and Governor Lieutenant General Gurmeet Singh (Retd.). On this day, people who have made outstanding contributions in the fields of literature, culture, education, and art will be honored. The presence of Padma Bhushan painter Jatin Das, cinematographer Trilok Kapoor, and artist Aditya Narayan will make this session special.
Budding writers will have a platform to make their mark: Nishank
Former Chief Minister and founder of Writers’ Village, Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, said that the Sparsh Himalaya Festival is not just an event, but a global celebration of India’s spirit, culture, and creativity.
