Uttarakhand: CM Dhami participated in the 47th All India PR Conference, calling communication the foundation of trust

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami today participated in the 47th All India Public Relations Conference – 2025, held at Hotel Emerald Grand, Sahastradhara Road, Dehradun. The Chief Minister inaugurated the conference by lighting the ceremonial lamp and also visited the photo exhibition and various handicraft stalls at the conference venue, thereby promoting local art and crafts.

Dehradun is hosting the 47th All India Public Relations Conference from December 13 to 15, with public relations and communication professionals from across the country participating. Organized by the Public Relations Society of India (PRSI), the conference is centered on the theme “Developed India @2047: Development and Heritage.”

The conference was inaugurated today, December 13, by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. The three-day event will feature expert sessions on topics such as Uttarakhand’s 25-year development journey, the role of media and public relations, technology, GST, AI, cybercrime, misinformation, and international public relations. The participation of delegates from Russia will give the conference an international dimension. The conference will conclude on December 15.

On this occasion, the Chief Minister welcomed the public relations experts, delegates, and young talents from across the country, stating that this year’s theme, “PR Vision for 2047,” is highly relevant in realizing the vision of a developed India. He said that in today’s times, public relations is not merely a means of information dissemination, but has become a crucial and effective part of the nation-building process.

The Chief Minister said that in the current digital age, while there is an abundance of information, the challenge of misinformation is also serious. In such a scenario, establishing accurate, timely, and trustworthy communication between the government and the public is the greatest responsibility of public relations. He said that in a state like Uttarakhand, which is prone to natural disasters and is strategically sensitive, communication is not just a formality, but the foundation of trust. The Chief Minister said that in areas such as disaster management, good governance, and religious and tourism management, the future public relations system must be fast, technologically advanced, and sensitive to public sentiment, so that a relationship of partnership and trust, rather than command, can be established between the government and the people.

He expressed confidence that public relations can play a crucial role in building a positive narrative for the country, in addition to acting as an efficient command center during times of crisis. The Chief Minister said that this vision, originating from Devbhoomi Uttarakhand, will prove instrumental in building a developed India by 2047.

In his address, the Chief Minister highlighted the state’s development journey, stating that under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Uttarakhand is continuously progressing. He informed that the size of the state’s economy is projected to reach approximately ₹3.78 lakh crore in 2024-25, and a significant increase in per capita income has also been recorded. Along with this, the state has witnessed an unprecedented increase in the budget and a historic reduction in the unemployment rate.

The Chief Minister said that modern infrastructure is being rapidly developed in sectors such as education, health, roads, sports, drinking water, and air and rail connectivity. The government is also continuously striving to give Uttarakhand a global identity as a destination for religious tourism, wellness, adventure tourism, film shooting, and weddings.

He informed that projects like the Rishikesh-Karnaprayag rail project, the Delhi-Dehradun Expressway, ropeway projects, and airport expansions are giving new momentum to the state’s development. Additionally, year-round tourism is being promoted through initiatives like the winter tourism program.

The Chief Minister mentioned the efforts being made to strengthen investment, industry, and the local economy, stating that the state has achieved remarkable success in implementing the investment proposals received through the Global Investors Summit. With the single-window system and new industrial and startup policies, Uttarakhand has emerged as a promising investment hub.

He said that schemes like “One District-Two Products,” House of Himalayas, Millet Mission, and the new tourism and film policies are strengthening local livelihoods. Uttarakhand’s achievements in national and international rankings are a testament to the state’s transparent, effective, and participatory governance.

The Chief Minister stated that the state government is fully committed to development, as well as the preservation of cultural values, population balance, and social structure. He added that Uttarakhand’s policies and innovations are becoming a model for other states in the country and are playing a significant role in shaping the direction of a developed India by 2047.

The program was attended by Rajya Sabha MP Naresh Bansal, Cabinet Minister Ganesh Joshi, Swami Chidanand Muni from Parmarth Niketan, Additional Secretary Banshidhar Tiwari, National President of PRSI Ajit Pathak, President of the Dehradun Chapter Ravi Bijarnia, Russian representatives Michael Maslov, Davydyenko Yulia, Anna Talanina, and public relations personnel and communication professionals from across the country.
