The incident of objectionable slogans being raised against the Prime Minister in the country’s capital is escalating. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has strongly objected to it. The incident occurred during the Congress party’s “Vote Thief, Leave the Throne” rally held at Delhi’s Ramlila Maidan on December 14th. During the rally, a female Congress leader raised slogans against Prime Minister Modi, including “Modi, your grave will be dug, if not today, then tomorrow.” A video of this incident of slogan shouting surfaced on social media, leading to an uproar. Questions arose about the identity of the woman who raised the objectionable slogans against PM Modi. Let’s find out who she is.
Election Commission acting on the government’s instructions
The woman who raised slogans against Prime Minister Narendra Modi is Manju Lata Meena. Manju Lata is the District President of the Jaipur Women’s Congress. When a news agency contacted her regarding the slogans, Manju said that she stands by her statement. Manju Lata said that there is widespread anger among the public regarding vote rigging. People from all over India have gathered at Ramlila Maidan. The public has proven today that everyone is against vote theft. The Election Commission is also acting according to the government’s instructions. While the Election Commission should be independent and make its own decisions, currently it is operating at the behest of the government.
Standing by her statement, Manju Devi said that the Prime Minister neither talks about employment, nor does he speak about the youth, nor does he address farmers. He doesn’t even talk about women. He distracts from the real issues. When asked if she would apologize, she replied that she would not. It is worth noting that this issue of statements against PM Modi was also raised in Parliament today. Slogans were chanted in both houses regarding the statements. In the Rajya Sabha, JP Nadda demanded an apology from Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and Sonia Gandhi. Meanwhile, Kiren Rijiju raised the issue in the Lok Sabha. However, the opposition also raised its voice. Due to the escalating uproar, both houses were adjourned.
