Uttarakhand: Mahendra Bhatt linked the ‘Gattu controversy’ to casteism, and said about Urmila, “That sister is playing into the hands of the Congress.”

The ‘Gattu controversy’ related to the Ankita Bhandari murder case is currently creating a stir in Uttarakhand politics. Mahendra Bhatt has once again made a significant statement regarding Urmila Sanawar. Mahendra Bhatt claims that a video of Urmila Sanawar’s former husband has surfaced, in which he allegedly says that she can do anything for money.

Earlier, Urmila Sanawar, who claims to be the wife of former BJP MLA Suresh Rathore, released a video in which she made serious allegations against a senior BJP leader. She also claimed that the leader’s name is Gattu, and that he is the VVIP responsible for Ankita Bhandari’s murder. Following the release of this video, Uttarakhand BJP state president Mahendra Bhatt also issued a statement.

Mahendra Bhatt called Urmila Sanawar’s allegations baseless and stated that Urmila Sanawar has no credibility. Mahendra Bhatt even called Urmila Sanawar a “Congress puppet.” Then, on the night of December 24th, Urmila Sanawar released another video regarding Mahendra Bhatt, explaining how he knows her. Urmila Sanawar even claimed that Mahendra Bhatt had offered her a ticket to contest the assembly elections.

Today, in Pauri, the media questioned Mahendra Bhatt again about Urmila Sanawar’s statements. To this, Mahendra Bhatt replied:

“I speak based on facts and evidence. That woman is completely playing into the hands of the Congress. I have heard about a video of her former husband in which he is saying that she can do anything for money. I never imagined that the Congress would stoop to such a low level. My allegations are further confirmed. The Congress has worked to defame the Scheduled Caste community in Uttarakhand.
