District Congress workers protested against Agriculture Minister Ganesh Joshi in Gangori by showing him black flags. Police had to use force to stop them. Even then, Congress workers continued to raise slogans against the minister and the state government.

Congress workers claim that Agriculture Minister Ganesh Joshi did not visit Uttarkashi district even once during the devastating Dharali disaster, instead attending fairs. In fact, on Saturday, District Congress workers gathered near the Gangori bridge and raised slogans against the state government and Cabinet Minister Ganesh Joshi.

Agriculture Minister Ganesh Joshi had arrived in Gangori to participate in the “Jan Jan Ke Dwar Jan Jan Ki Sarkar” program and the Magh Mela. As soon as Agriculture Minister Ganesh Joshi’s convoy arrived in Gangori, Congress workers showed him black flags and demanded he leave. Police had to struggle to stop them.

Congress officials say that the district has faced a devastating disaster like Dharali. But at that time, no state minister bothered to visit. Besides, Minister Ganesh Joshi also holds the PMGSY portfolio. The worst condition in the district is of PMGSY roads. Roads connecting villages like Gangori-Sangmachatti-Agora, Gyansu-Sald-Uparikot, and Uttaron, near the district headquarters, have not been asphalted for years. Accidents occur daily on these dilapidated roads. Therefore, a minister who cannot even get his own department’s work repaired has no right to visit the district.

Present on this occasion were former Congress District President Manish Rana, Kamal Rawat, Dinesh Gaur, Manoj Panwar, Sudhish Panwar, Deepak Rawat, Rakhi, Ekadashi, Vipin, Vinod, Adarsh Rana, Vikram Rawat, Hariam, and others.

Agriculture Minister Joshi listened to public grievances at the camp and ordered the salary of absent EEs to be deducted. A camp was organized in Gangori under the “Government of the People, Doorstep of the People” program. Agriculture and Farmers Welfare and Soldiers Welfare Minister Ganesh Joshi listened to the public’s grievances at the camp. The absence of the Water Corporation Executive Engineer (EE) at the camp angered Joshi.

He directed the CMO to deduct one day’s salary of the concerned officer on the spot. Villagers prominently raised the demand for improvement of the Gangor-Agora road. Regarding the road connecting Uttaron village to the Gangotri National Highway, the Cabinet Minister directed the PMGSY and the Revenue Department to conduct a joint inspection and resolve the issues expeditiously.

A total of 47 complaints and grievances were registered at the camp, 32 of which were resolved on the spot in the presence of officials. Demands were made for a road from Uttaron to Dingla and for connecting Seku village to the road.

The Cabinet Minister directed the PMGSY to prepare DPRs for villages like Seku, Hurri, and others. Meanwhile, villagers complained that water from the road was entering homes due to the lack of a drain on the Bagiyal village road, and a demand was also raised for the construction of a drain.

Addressing the program, the Cabinet Minister stated that special camps are being organized across the state for 45 days, which have benefited more than 272,000 people so far. Minister Joshi stated that the government has fulfilled a major demand of UPNL employees by implementing the system of equal work, equal pay, which has significantly benefited them. During the event, he distributed checks worth 2.1 million rupees to the Dharali affected people.
