Amidst reports of a ban on Patanjali’s Coronil Kits in Nepal, the Health Department has clarified that the sale and distribution of Coronil kits have been banned from their side until they are registered with the department as per the rules of the Government of Nepal. It would happen
In fact, Patanjali Yogpeeth Nepal had given this coronil kit as a gift to the government to help Nepal battling Corona by ordering about 100 cartons of coronil kits from India. In the midst of a ceremony on May 31, Shaligram Singh, Chief Trustee of Patanjali Yogpeeth Nepal, presented 1500 coronil kits to the then Health Minister of Nepal, Hridayesh Tripathi.
On behalf of the Ministry of Health, handing over this kit to the Department of Ayurveda, it was asked to use it in consultation with the doctors at the Ayurvedic Isolation Center running in Nepal. Dr. Vasudev Upadhyay, Director General, Department of Ayurveda said that the use of Coronil kit received from the Ministry of Health has been banned for some time. Dr. Upadhyay said that the coronil kit has not yet completed the related process in the Department of Medicine of Nepal. As soon as this process is completed, then permission will be given to use it.
Nepal’s Health Ministry spokesman Krishna Poudel also admitted that no such order has been issued by the Government of Nepal regarding the ban on the Coronil kit. Due to this being in process, its use has been banned for some time.
Shaligram Singh, trustee of Patanjali Yogpeeth Nepal, said that the process has been stalled due to the time taken in the process. He said that at the time of epidemic, the government or health department should complete its delivery process and allow its use and sale, distribution at the earliest.
