More than 40 thousand cases of black fungus in the country, 3,129 people died

Even though the second wave of corona is on the rise in India, but the cases of black fungus are increasing rapidly. So far, 40,845 black fungus cases have been reported in the country. Most of these patients have infections in the brain and nasal system.

This data has been released during the 29th meeting of the Central Government on Corona on Monday. So far, 40,845 cases of black fungus have been found in the country, out of which 31,344 are cases in which infection has occurred in the brain or the nasal system of the patients. Due to this fungus accumulates in the brain, nasal system, mouth etc. Health Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan said that so far 3,129 people have died due to black fungus. Of the patients of black fungus, 34,940 had corona. Apart from this, 64 percent i.e. 26,187 people had serious diseases. Apart from this, there were 52.69 percent people who had this infection due to taking steroids. Not only this, black fungus is also making people of all age groups its victims like corona. Dr. Harsh Vardhan said that 32 per cent of the patients who were in the grip of black fungus were in the age group of 18 to 45 years. Apart from this, there were 17,464 patients, whose age is also between 45 and 60 years. At the same time, 24 percent i.e. 10,082 people above 60 years of age have fallen victim to it.
