Smriti Mandhana demands consistency in performance from Indian batting group

Indian women’s T20 cricket team vice-captain Smriti Mandhana has demanded consistency in their performances from the team’s batting group. He believes that much work remains to be done to raise the level of the team.

Smriti said before the last match of the tour, “The win in the second T20 match against England was very important for the team, especially the way we came back in the last five overs to win the match. The win showed a lot of character from the bowlers and the fielders. It was something we needed. The way we played in the third ODI and then in the second T20 is going to help us build up our confidence but we all know tomorrow will be a new day so we will have nothing but no doubt about it It’s going to be more confident for our players to go out there and give 100 percent and win matches.

It is noteworthy that India made a spectacular comeback in the second T20 against England, winning the match by eight runs and leveling the three-match series at 1-1. With this win, the Indian team has kept itself alive in this series.
The Indian vice-captain said, “Harmanpreet Kaur coming back in form and hitting good shots off a few deliveries is a great thing for the Indian team. This win was really important, which has put us in a position to win the T20 series in the next match and draw the multi-format series. As a team, we need to work on a lot of things, especially in the batting department. The next seven months are going to be really important. We have to start scoring good scores. If I talk about the one-day format, we have to start scoring over 250/260 when you are batting first consistently. Of course we can have consistency in our bowling and fielding. We’re probably doing a good job. I think we can be consistent in that department, so the next seven months will be very important to fully prepare ourselves for the ODI World Cup. Of course, the Australia series is also going to be big in terms of preparations for the World Cup.
