Massive explosion in the German city of Leverkusen
A huge explosion occurred in the western German city of Leverkusen. The explosion took place at the Leverkusen Champark site.
Witnesses observed a plume of smoke near a site belonging to Bayer, one of the country’s largest chemical companies, citing WDR.
The Federal Office for Civil Protection and Disaster Assistance (BBK) has warned the public to close their windows and stay inside in the wake of dangerous gases leaking from the plant.
BBK Nina urged the people of Burig district to go inside and close all doors and windows.
There are no immediate reports of damage or casualties and injuries.
