A youth who dreamed of becoming an actress in a college in Delhi started her acting journey by participating in a street play. That play was directed by the then aspiring actor. After 30 years, she became a leading actress and today she is known for her work on television and OTT platforms. Now shares screen space with the aspiring actor who is now multiple National Award winning actor Manoj Bajpayee.

She is Sakshi Tanwar. She narrates how the film Dial 100 made her feel about nostalgia moments.

Sakshi said, “Working with Manoj sir was very special and emotional for me. I was in Delhi’s Lady Shri Ram College, where we were doing a street play and Manoj sir directed that play. It was like 30 years ago, I was a student immediately after that he moved to Mumbai and when Satya released, it was like for me – I know him, he is my first director, I will meet him when I am an actress. I will be
It was strange that ever since I started working as an actress in Mumbai, I never met her properly and of course, never worked together. But it was on my wish list to work with Manoj sir or at least meet him as an actress as I was a student at that time with dreams of becoming an actress. I wanted to meet him once and say sir, do you remember, I was the student you directed for a street play!
Now that Sakshi is one of the leading names in the acting field, she only counts her blessings and feels fortunate to be working with Manoj in an important film like Dial 100.

Sakshi, who is known for several TV series including Kahaani Ghar Ghar Ki and Bade Achhe Lagte Hain etc., said, “Feeling really lucky on this one yes it took me 30 years, but I am on screen with an iconic actor like Manoj sir. Sharing the space and meeting her in the capacity of an actress. In the film, she is playing the role of Nikhil Sood’s wife played by Manoj. Neena Gupta is also playing the role of one of the lead characters in the film named Seema Pallava. Sakshi said, I have maximum views and they are all very important, with Neenaji. In the film, there are very tense moments between these two characters. Off-camera, it was the exact opposite! Once the director says Cut, we will just relax. I talk a lot and Nina was very welcoming of that idea, so we’d have a lot to talk about whenever we got the time! We laughed, laughed and the more I saw Neena ji closer, the more I admired her. This was also the first film I shot post the lockdown, which really gave me a sense of normalcy that otherwise I was stuck in a confined space. I would say that doing the film has completed many of my own works. Best wishes! I am very happy! Produced by Sony Pictures Films India, directed by Rensil D’Silva, Dial 100 will release on ZEE5 on 6 August.
