Danish Siddiqui didn’t ask us for permission, was killed in crossfire: Taliban

On the death of Indian journalist Danish Siddiqui killed in Afghanistan, Taliban has clearly told NDTV that Danish did not ask us for permission. The Taliban is not responsible for his death. Danish Siddiqui died in cross firing. Taliban spokesman Muhammad Sohail Shaheen said that photojournalist Danish Siddiqui did not coordinate with us. Asked about Pulitzer-winning photojournalist Danish Siddiqui, who was killed while covering a conflict between Afghan security forces and the Taliban, the spokesman said it was wrong to say that he was killed by Taliban fighters.
Muhammad Shaheen said, “You cannot say that he was killed by our fighters. Ask why he did not coordinate with us. We have announced to the journalists not once but several times that when they will come to our place, So please coordinate with us and we will provide you security”.
Shaheen said, “But he was with the Kabul security forces. There was no difference – whether they were security personnel or militia or Kabul soldiers or one of the journalists. He was killed in cross-firing, so it is not known whether he Whose bullet was it that killed him?
All the reports have claimed that Danish Siddiqui was captured by the Taliban and brutally killed. His body was also mutilated. A Taliban spokesman denied this. “We have denied the allegations of mutilating Danish’s body two-three times. This is not our policy. It is possible that the security forces did this to defame us. The bodies were mutilated,” he said. Doing so is against the rules of Islam.”
When Shaheen was asked whether journalists can approach the Taliban and they can be allowed to do ground reporting from the Taliban. So he said, “Journalists from all over the world, if they want to come to our regions and do reporting, they can come. They can open branches in our regions to see the ground reality with their own eyes.”
