Restaurants and bars also closed, restrictions increased in Delhi amid rising cases of Corona

To control the increasing pace of corona infection in Delhi, today the LG of Delhi held a meeting with all the top officials including DDMA (DDMA Meeting Today), CM Kejriwal, AIIMS Director Randeep Guleria. During this, many suggestions were discussed to prevent the corona epidemic. In view of the Corona speed, now new restrictions have been imposed. Now bars and restaurants have also been ordered to close.
The Delhi LG said that in the DDMA meeting it has been decided to close down restaurants and bars and allow only ‘take away’ facility. It has been decided to allow operation of only one weekly market per day in each zone. The Delhi Health Department has advised to arrange additional staff in hospitals and increase the vaccination for children in the age group of 15-18 years.
The Department was also advised to take up positive messaging particularly through the vernacular media to elicit community support and to advise the citizens against any panic reaction.

All stakeholders were called upon to work in a coordinated manner to deal with the pandemic.
In a meeting of DDMA chaired by Lt Governor Anil Baijal, it was discussed how to strictly implement the existing restrictions so as to check the spread of corona virus and its new form Omicron. Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was also present in the meeting. It was discussed in the meeting that the restrictions imposed in Delhi should be implemented in the entire National Capital Region (NCR). However, the Kejriwal government is not in favor of 50% capacity in Delhi Metro.

Level 4 of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) of DDMA ie Red Alert is a condition for implementation. A rate alert is invoked if the positivity rate is more than 5% for two consecutive days, more than 16000 cases in a period of seven days or an average of 3000 oxygen beds in hospitals are filled for seven consecutive days. Due to this, activities like curfew, lockdown, non-essential shops, metro will be banned completely.
What will be the restrictions if red alert is implemented
- Only those constructions will be done where the onsite labor is staying.
- Industry production and manufacturing units will remain closed, industries of essential items will open with onsite workers.
- All shops will remain closed except essential items, stand alone shops can open from 10 am to 6 pm malls will remain closed.
- Weekly market will remain closed.
- Metro closed, only people of essential services allowed in buses, 50 percent allowed according to seating capacity.
Corona cases increasing due to Omicron
In the last few days, the daily cases of COVID are seeing a spurt. This is mainly due to the oomicron nature of the infection. According to the data released by the Health Department of Delhi, 22,751 new cases of corona were reported in the capital on Sunday. At the same time, seven patients died. The infection rate of corona in Delhi has reached 23.53 percent. DDMA has imposed a weekend curfew in the city to contain the spread of the virus.
CM refused to impose lockdown
Earlier on Sunday, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had said that at present there is no plan to implement the lockdown. He clearly said that if people follow the rule of wearing masks, then the lockdown will not be imposed. He said that 22 thousand cases of COVID-19 are expected to be registered in Delhi in 24 hours on Sunday. He appealed to the people to wear masks.
