Uttarakhand / Kashipur : Opposition to the candidature of Trilok Singh Cheema, son of Harbhajan Singh Cheema, 400 BJP workers including Mayor Usha resigned

The opposition to the declaration of Trilok Singh Cheema, the son of MLA Harbhajan Singh Cheema, has started from the Kashipur assembly. Angered by this, about 400 BJP workers, including Mayor Usha Chaudhary, have resigned from the primary membership of the party. After the consent in a day or two, it has been announced to field one candidate as an independent. On Saturday, a meeting of disgruntled BJP workers of Kashipur was held at a hotel on Bajpur Road. In this, including Mayor Usha Chaudhary, PCU Chairman Ram Mehrotra from BJP, state executive and office bearers and workers of various divisions participated. In the meeting, a strong protest was expressed over the nomination of Trilok Singh Cheema, son of outgoing MLA Harbhajan Singh Cheema, as BJP’s candidate from Kashipur seat.
Tickets were distributed two days ago. Dissatisfaction with ticket distribution. Expressing anger after meeting, collective resignation has been done from the primary membership.

The party high command was demanded to change the candidate. Along with this, about 400 BJP workers, including the mayor, collectively resigned from the primary membership of the party. It was decided in the meeting that if the BJP state leadership does not take any decision regarding the candidate, then one of the candidates will be fielded as an independent candidate. State Vice President Khilendra Chaudhary, Abhishek Goyal, Dr. Girish Chandra Tiwari, Mohan Bisht, Gurvinder Singh Chandok etc. were present in the meeting.
Neither the workers nor the people of the city recognize the ticket given by the party. MLAs have also been winning elections on the shoulders of BJP. BJP is against him. The feelings of the workers cannot be suppressed. The top leadership should consider this.
