Maruti Suzuki starts production, will be introduced with a more premium and sporty look

The premium hatchback Baleno was introduced in 2015, since then it has emerged as the leader in this segment. The company has also updated it from time to time and in December 2021, Baleno has also crossed the 1 million unit sales mark and it has emerged as the best selling premium hatchback.
Now to stay in the competition, Maruti Suzuki has decided to give the Baleno a facelift update, which will be launched in the country in a few weeks. If reports are to be believed, Maruti Suzuki has started production of the new Baleno at Suzuki Motor India’s plant in Gujarat, pictures of which have been leaked. That is, the launch of the new Baleno is not far away now.
LED headlamps and bigger tail lamps will be available
Upon launch, the 2022 Baleno will continue to be sold through the company’s Nexa outlets as before and will be priced competitively. There will be some changes in the interior and exterior of the car and some new features will also be given to it. Exterior of the Baleno will include a flat front end, grille, new LED headlamps with LED DRLs and a larger tail lamp.
The new Baleno now looks much more premium and sporty than before, while the interiors have also received several updates. It gets a 9.0-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system with the new operating system, which has been developed in collaboration with Toyota. Suzuki Connect telematics system will also be available as standard in the top spec variant of the Baleno.
Will get more safety features first
Other updates on the car include a new multi information display unit, flat bottom steering wheel, changes in the dashboard design and air conditioning vents at the bottom as well as a unit of automatic climate control. The company will also offer a wireless phone charger with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto with the car. Maruti Suzuki will pay extra attention to the safety of the 2022 Baleno. Its body is made of thick and strong grade steel. With these updates, it is also possible that the company is looking to get a 5-star NCAP safety rating with the new Baleno.
Engine of baleno
There will be no change in the engine of the Baleno and it will run on the 1.2 liter VVT petrol engine. This engine develops 82Hp of power and 113Nm of torque, while the 1.2L Dual Jet VVT engine develops 89HP of power and 113Nm of torque.
Gearbox options include a 5-speed manual. However, Maruti Suzuki may offer the new Baleno with an Automatic Gear Shift (AGS) transmission. Due to this, its price may be slightly higher than the current model. Once launched in India, Baleno will compete with cars like Toyota Glanza, Hyundai i20, Tata Altroz and Honda Jazz.
