I wish India had participated in voting in solidarity with the people of Ukraine: Manish Tewari

Senior Congress leader Manish Tewari on Saturday said India should not participate in the vote on a UN Security Council resolution that “strongly condemned” Russia’s “aggressive behavior” against Ukraine. Showing solidarity with the people, should have participated in the voting. He tweeted, “There are times when nations need to stand up and not stand apart at all. I wish India had voted in the Security Council in solidarity with the people of Ukraine who are facing an unexpected and unwarranted attack. When ‘friends’ are wrong, they need to be told that they are wrong.”
Significantly, India did not participate in the vote on a UN Security Council resolution that “strongly condemned” Russia’s “aggressive behavior” against Ukraine. This resolution was introduced by the US in the Security Council.
India demanded an immediate end to the war, saying that dialogue was the only way to resolve differences.
