In Uttarakhand, someone changed party and lost, someone’s boat was crossed

In Uttarakhand, the cream of power for five years and then the cleverness of changing the party due to the fear of anti-incumbency, this time overshadowed many leaders and candidates. In the midst of a crisis of credibility, he has also been disappointed on the victory front. Eight such candidates yearned to win the election. At the same time, there were many candidates who found this cleverness helpful in crossing the election line. The election results announced on March 10 have been shocking in many ways. Just before the election, former minister Dr. Harak Singh Rawat joined the Congress by giving a bye to the BJP. Harak Singh, who handled important portfolios while being a cabinet minister in the BJP government, did not consider it appropriate to remain in the party till this election. He himself did not contest the election after dramatic developments that lasted more than a week after his return to Congress. In his place, he got daughter-in-law Anukreethy Gusain to get Congress ticket from Lansdowne seat, but could not get victory.
Yashpal won, Sanjeev lost
Former minister Yashpal Arya also followed the same path. He left the BJP with his MLA son and returned to the Congress in the election year. Although Yashpal himself won the election from Bajpur seat, his son Sanjeev Arya had to face defeat in Nainital seat. This seat of Nainital became a witness to interesting struggle due to defection. Sarita Arya, who left the Congress and joined the BJP on this seat, was crowned with victory.
Tehri seat became a witness to the reversal
The reverse happened in Tehri seat too. Kishore Upadhyay, who left the Congress and joined the BJP, won the Tehri seat. At the same time, after his arrival, former MLA Dhan Singh Negi, who left the BJP and switched to Congress, contested the elections on a Congress ticket, but yearned for victory.
The battle of defectors has also drawn attention in Purola and Yamunotri seats of Uttarkashi district. Malchand, who left the BJP and contested on a Congress ticket from Purola seat, was defeated by Durgesh Lal, who switched from Congress to BJP. In the Yamunotri seat, Deepak Bijalvan also joined the Congress on the occasion of the election, but he did not even win.
Defection to Almora, Ranikhet and Lalkuan
Almora also became a part of such war. Congress’s Mohan Singh Mehra had joined the BJP a year ago from Jageshwar seat in Almora district. When the party gave him a ticket, he pitted Congress veteran Govind Singh Kunjwal in the election fray.
Pramod Nainwal was expelled from Ranikhet seat by BJP in the last election. The party took him back and contested the elections. Nainwal defeated Deputy Leader of Opposition Karan Mahara and won. The same situation happened in Lalkuan seat of Nainital district. Dr. Mohan Singh Bisht, who returned to the BJP on the occasion of elections, defeated former Chief Minister Harish Rawat.
BSP was also a part of this game
Not only BJP and Congress, BSP has also gone through similar experience. Former MLA Narayan Pal, who left Congress and joined BSP on the occasion of election, contested from Sitarganj seat of Udhamsinghnagar district, but lost. Subodh Rakesh, who contested the last election on BJP ticket in Bhagwanpur seat of Haridwar district, fought on BSP ticket this time, but could not win.
