Uttarakhand / Kalagarh : Forest department workers raised slogans against the department, did not get salary for six months

Angry forest workers remained standing at the departmental office for the second day for not getting the salary of the last six months, food items. They threatened to go on an indefinite fast if their demands were not met.

Forest workers are employed as temporary daily in Mandal Range Mohan in Kalagarh Tiger Reserve. Forest workers boycotted work outside Kalagarh Tiger Reserve Forest Shretraghikari Mohan office and started home. The employees say that we have not received salary, food material since October 2021. Forest workers say that we have talked to the DFO of the Forest Department, Kalagarh Tiger Reserve. We were assured by DFO to pay salary, arrange food items within a week. In such a situation, the employees are facing financial crisis. Even after being told by the workers, the forest officials are ignoring the matter by giving them assurances. The economic crisis of livelihood in front of the employees arose.
