Uttarakhand : Summer holidays cut in government schools, holidays from June 2 to July 2 – teachers angry
Summer vacations in government schools in Uttarakhand are going to be cut. This time in government schools, instead of May 27, holidays will start from June 2, which will continue till July 2. The teachers reacted sharply to this. DG-Education Banshidhar Tiwari confirmed this. He told on Monday that this year the system of holiday is being modified somewhat. This will benefit the students in teaching.
Its order will be issued soon. According to sources, Corona is also being cited as the reason behind this decision. Due to Corona, studies have been affected a lot for the last two years. The Education Department believes that if the vacation period is extended further, then students can get some more time to study. At present, this decision will be applicable to schools in low altitude and plain districts during summer holidays.
Education Director RK Kunwar told that the format of the holiday has been made which will be implemented after permission from the DG. Was told to provide EL facility instead. Teachers have also been demanding the facility of EL instead of long holidays.
Teachers not happy with the decision: Teachers are not happy with the preparations for the cut in summer vacations. This will end his five vacations. Questions are being raised about this decision on social media. Teachers say that the holiday should not end first. If there is, then the lesser is being done, the more EL should be given.
Teacher Trilochan Joshi said that schools should also be opened like other government departments. Summer-winter holidays should be closed and second Saturday and EL facility should be given. Umesh Chauhan, District President of Junior High School Teacher’s Association, Dehradun, said that 35 holidays are already fixed in the calendar year.
There is no reason to cut them. He said that if this is happening for PM’s Mann Ki Baat program on May 28, then wherever the teacher will stay, he can listen to Mann Ki Baat or listen to its recording. As such, holidays should not be curtailed.
