Now MPs will not be able to picket in Parliament, decree issued before monsoon session

Monsoon session is going to start from Monday. Earlier today an order has been issued, according to which no dharna will be allowed in Parliament. The opposition has many such issues like inflation, unemployment, Agneepath scheme, on which there can be a dispute with the government.

According to a new order by Rajya Sabha Secretary General PC Modi, Members of Parliament cannot use its premises for any dharna or strike.

“Members may not use the premises of Parliament House for the purpose of holding any demonstration, dharna, strike, fasting or any religious function,” said PC Modi’s order. He appealed to the members for cooperation.

At the same time, Congress has opposed this decision. Jairam Ramesh, in-charge of the party’s media cell, took a jibe at the decision by tweeting. Tweeting the letter of the order, he wrote, ‘Vishvaguru’s latest advice – dharna is forbidden!’
