A major accident took place on the Lohaghat National Highway in Champawat district of Uttarakhand. A school student going to join the tricolor yatra here was crushed by the cantor. The student died a painful death on the spot. Police reached the spot as soon as the incident was reported. Angered by the incident, the people of the area also blocked the national highway for some time. However, since the incident, the absconding driver has been arrested by the police from the ghat.
Let us tell you that on Saturday, Himanshu Singh (11) resident of Gary village was going to participate in a cluster level rally at GIC Baparu. This accident happened to him while crossing the road. In the morning the tricolor yatra was being taken out by the school. Meanwhile, the canter carrying the Pithoragarh postal parcel trampled the student near Malla Baparu, due to which the student died on the spot. The driver escaped from the spot along with the vehicle, which was later caught by the police team from the ghat. At the same time, the angry people also blocked the highway by the incident. SO Jasvir Singh Chauhan of Lohaghat police station reached the spot and made the jam open by persuading the people and students. The police sent the body of the student to Lohaghat mortuary, where the body has been handed over to the relatives after conducting the post-mortem after doing Panchayatnama.
Since the incident, there is a wave of mourning in the entire area. There is chaos in the family and village of the student. The parents, brothers and sisters of the student are lying unconscious. The student was the youngest of 5 siblings and the darling of the family. It is being told that he was going to run 100/200 meters race in the rally today. He promised his mother to win a medal at home, but before that he could fulfill the promise, this accident happened with him. Regional MLA Khushal Singh Adhikari and former MLA Puran Singh Furtyal have expressed grief over the incident. The villagers accused the education department and said that even after such a big rally, teachers were not present there. Whereas teachers should have been present to look after the children.
