Former Indian cricketer Vinod Kambli is fascinated by money, ready to do anything to overcome financial crisis

Vinod Kambli, the former batsman of the Indian cricket team, is going through financial crisis these days and is fascinated by money. The situation is that they are ready to do any work related to cricket to earn money. According to the news published in our associate newspaper Mid-Day, it was difficult to even recognize this 50-year-old former cricketer when he was sitting in a coffee shop in Mumbai on Tuesday. Usually seen in a gold chain, stylish cap and splendid dress, Kambli looked very simple and his cell phone screen was visible from the right side.

Kambli’s condition is that to reach the club, he had to come in a friend’s car. Kambli told Mid-Day that he needs work and at present his source of income is BCCI pension. Kambli gets Rs 30,000 as pension from BCCI. Talking about his financial constraints, Kambli said that I am a retired cricketer and completely dependent on BCCI pension. My only source of income is pension and I am thankful to the Indian Cricket Board for this.

Kambli said that I want assignments so that I can help young cricketers. I know Mumbai has kept Amol Majumdar as their head coach and I am there if they need me. I have told him many times that if you need me then I am with you. I have family and I have to take care of them. There is no cricket for you after retirement from cricket, but if you want stability in life then assignments are a must. I can request to MCA President that I am ready if need be.

Kambli said that the situation is such that it is disturbing. I was not born rich and I could do something in my life only by playing cricket. I have seen poverty and sometimes there was no food. I used to go to Sharda Ashram School where I used to get food when I was in the team, while Sachin Tendulkar became my friend. I came from a very poor family and I miss my parents very much. Well, I got a lot from cricket. Let us tell you that Vinod Kambli played 17 Test matches for India in which he scored 1084 runs, while in 104 ODIs he scored 2477 runs. He scored 4 centuries in Tests and 2 centuries in ODIs.
