Bangladeshi woman living in Uttarakhand hiding identity for 11 years, passport and visa also expired years ago

Dehradun Police has arrested a Bangladeshi woman on Wednesday. She was living in Rishikesh hiding her identity for the last 11 years. Instructions were given by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India to search for information about foreign nationals overstaying in different parts of the state.

In this sequence, the police launched a special operation to search for people living illegally. In a search operation by LIU Dehradun, information was received about a Bangladeshi woman overstaying in Awas Vikas Colony, Rishikesh. The travel documents and identity cards of the said woman Sonia Chaudhary were checked by visiting the residence of Babla Chaudhary Hall, resident of 927 Housing Development Colony, Virbhadra Road, Rishikesh district Dehradun.

Investigation revealed that the woman is a Bangladeshi passport holder whose validity expired on 25 December 2014 and the visa validity also expired on 18 September 2011. On checking the other identity cards by the police team, it was also found to be making Indian documents by the above woman while staying illegally in India, which is a violation of the provisions of the IPC and Passport Act 1967 / Foreigners Act 1946.

On the basis of the documents received, a case has been registered against the said woman in the police station Rishikesh under crime number 471/22 section 419, 420, 467, 468, 471, 120B IPC, section 14 Foreigners Act and section 12 Passport Act.
