BJP on AAP’s target, echo of raid on Sisodia will be heard in special session of Delhi Assembly

The session is going to take place amid the ongoing political turmoil over the action of central investigative agencies in connection with the excise policy of the Delhi government and allegations of BJP wooing Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLAs. In such a situation, the special session is likely to be uproar.
According to the document released by the Vidhan Sabha, the session will start from 11 am on August 26. Opposition parties have also raised objections to this session and made serious allegations against Kejriwal’s government.
Leader of Opposition in the Assembly Ramesh Bidhuri alleged that the ruling party has turned the Assembly into a “political arena”.
Ramesh Bidhuri said that “calling a one-day session is a mockery of democracy”.
The Delhi unit of the Congress demanded that Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia should apologize “for lying about the liquor scam” in the special session of the House.
Congress’s Delhi unit president Anil Chaudhary said, “A decision should be taken in a special session on bringing out the white paper to bring out the truth on the liquor scam.”
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday questioned the source of Rs 800 crore that was allegedly offered by the BJP to sway 40 AAP MLAs. After a meeting of AAP MLAs at his residence, Kejriwal along with his MLAs went to Rajghat, the memorial site of the Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi, to pray for the failure of BJP’s ‘Operation Lotus’.
Kejriwal alleged, “They (BJP) have offered Rs 20 crore each to our MLAs. They have earmarked Rs 800 crore to topple the Delhi government.”
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has registered a money laundering case against Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia and others after taking cognizance of a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) FIR registered in connection with the probe into alleged irregularities in the Delhi Excise Policy.
