Syllabus of government schools up to 12th going to change in Uttarakhand

The syllabus of government schools is going to change. As per the recommendations of the National Policy on Education (NEP), a fresh curriculum is being prepared for classes I to XII. In the new syllabus, students will also get to know a lot about Uttarakhand. Geographical, cultural, social, historical and political subjects of the state will also be covered. According to Education Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat, the syllabus will be finalized within the coming one and a half months.

State information will increase

Presently NCERT syllabus is applicable in the state. Since NCERT books are in the national perspective, the information about the state is negligible. The standard has also been fixed in the subject of the syllabus in the NEP. According to Dr. Singh, 30 percent of it will be of the state and the remaining 70 percent will be national. This arrangement has given the state an opportunity to include locality in the curriculum. Senior officials of the education department and education experts are jointly preparing this state level syllabus. Soon it will be sent to the central government.

Pool of teachers of all four education boards will be made

There is also a preparation to create a pool of teachers from Uttarakhand Board, CBSE, ICSE and Patanjali’s Indian Board of Education to give the best teachers and educational environment to the students. Under this, teachers will be able to come to teach in each other’s board. The Education Minister said that eminent scientist K. Kasturirangan has been invited to visit Uttarakhand. He has drafted the NEP. This proposal will be placed before him.

This will bring all the four boards on one platform

The government is going to take a new initiative for the development of capacity development, management and administrative capabilities of the teachers of the state. Under this, one thousand teachers of the state will be given special training in the National Institute of Science. While the principals will be given a one week special course at IIM, Kashipur.
