Uttarakhand : BJP celebrates victory in Haridwar Panchayat elections

The BJP has performed strongly in the three-tier panchayat elections of Haridwar district, which became a question of prestige. Since the formation of the state, the BJP had won only a maximum of four seats in the district panchayat here, but the trend of the election results till late Thursday is showing that this time the party should occupy the district panchayat on its own or with the help of independents. can. On the other hand, after the second consecutive defeat in the assembly elections for the opposition Congress, the performance of Haridwar Panchayat elections is going to prove to be a big setback. The Haridwar Panchayat elections were the first major test for the BJP and Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, who came to power for the second consecutive time with a two-thirds majority in the assembly elections. In which the new BJP state president Mahendra Bhatt has passed and the public has expressed confidence in the work of CM Dhami. Strong performance of BJP for the first time in Haridwar District Panchayat
In the three-tier panchayat elections of Haridwar district, the BJP, which has made its strongest performance since the formation of the state, has moved towards getting a clear majority in the district panchayat. The BJP itself, after winning 14 seats, has succeeded in bringing six newly elected Zilla Panchayat members into its fold. These six district panchayat members duly joined the BJP on Friday evening. Party sources said that six other newly elected district panchayat members will join the BJP on Saturday. The historic victory for the BJP in the Haridwar panchayat elections is also significant as the party could not get the expected success in the assembly elections held earlier this year. Even the number of its MLAs in the district was reduced as compared to the fourth assembly. Then the Congress was trying to put the ruling BJP in the dock by making the issue of appointments in the Subordinate Services Selection Commission and Vidhan Sabha an issue. The party had to be uncomfortable with the Ankita murder case and its main accused being associated with Haridwar and BJP.
Despite all this, the BJP under the leadership of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami gave the best performance so far in the Panchayat elections. Chief Minister Dhami made several visits to Haridwar district in the last few weeks. State President Mahendra Bhatt and Haridwar MP Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank were also fully active.
Till late Friday night, though all the results of Zilla Panchayat crop posts were not declared, the BJP was able to register victory in 14 seats on its own. On Friday evening, the BJP increased its membership to 20 members. In fact, in the program organized at the state BJP headquarters here on Friday evening, newly elected members of Haridwar district panchayat and BSP leader Anshul Chaudhary, independent Naved Alam, Savita Saini, Veer Singh, Bhura and Mustakim joined BJP. BSP state secretary Ashok Choudhary and many others also joined the party. BJP state president Mahendra Bhatt, former chief minister and Haridwar MP Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, BJP state general secretary Aditya Kothari and other provincial leaders welcomed the district panchayat members and others to the party.
BJP overtakes the maths of 23
