Uttarakhand : CM Dhami did aerial survey of avalanche affected area, bodies of 10 climbers recovered, 16 missing, 32 rescued

A team of 58 mountaineers of Nehru Mountaineering Institute i.e. NIM, out for training in the high Himalayan region, came under the grip of an avalanche on Tuesday morning. So far 32 people have been rescued by the Air Force by conducting a rescue operation. At the same time, 16 people are missing. While the bodies of 10 people have been recovered so far. Let us inform that the Air Force had recovered four bodies on Tuesday, while today six more bodies have been recovered in the rescue operation.

CM did aerial survey of the spot
CM Pushkar Singh Dhee reached Nim today and took stock of the situation. At the same time, he also did an aerial survey of Draupadi’s Danda area. At the same time, out of 33 people trapped in the base camp, 14 people were brought to ITBP Camp Matli today.

A total of 58 people, including 44 trainees, 8 instructors, left for the Advanced Mountaineering Course on September 14 at the Nehru Institute of Mountaineering (NIM) in Uttarkashi. On September 25, the team reached the base camp of Draupadi’s Danda peak in the Dokrani Bamak glacier area. From there, all reached Camp-1 located at an altitude of 5670 meters for the ascent of the peak. This team reached Draupadi’s Danda Peak (5771 m) at four o’clock in the early hours of Tuesday. However, while returning to Camp-1, the team came under heavy avalanche at around 8.45 am.
