Himachal Pradesh : Drive vehicles or do job, as soon as Adani Group takes over, the cement company’s new decrees stir

The new order to ‘drive vehicles or do jobs’ to the local employees of Ambuja Cement Company has created a stir in the transporter world. Adani Group has recently taken over two famous ACC and Ambuja cement industries in Himachal. With the new decree, thousands of transporters have started planning a big movement. Truck operator cooperative societies have already rejected the decision of the new management class to tag Ambuja cement bags in the ACC Barmana industry and supply them in dumps and remote places, and now, with the new instructions, the land losers’ agreement with the 27-year-old Ambuja Cement Company But preparations have started to attack. With this new decree, there is a possibility of stopping the wheels of about five thousand trucks engaged in the transportation work in the said company. It may be noted that in the year 1995, there was an agreement between the Ambuja Cement Company and the land displaced people of the area that one member of the family would be given a job in the company according to their educational qualification and the family could also buy a truck to transport clinker and cement. Most of the land loser families also operated their trucks by taking tokens and a family member also got a job in the company. At present, about 200 land displaced members are working in Ambuja Cement Company and at the same time trucks are also being operated for the goods transportation work of their families.
Ambuja Company has also seen many ups and downs in the 28 years of establishment and first Neotia was the owner of this company then Holcim, then Lafarge and now recently this company has been bought by Adani Group. As soon as Adani Group took over this company, now the new management has started working on ‘coast cutting’. Management class has said that job and business will not work together. At present, about five thousand trucks of SDTO, ATTO, BSL, GLL and Kurugan Truck Operator Societies are operated in the company. (HDM)
