Unique fraud in the name of job in Railways, 28 youths counted the number of trains every day for eight hours, thugs cheated 2.5 crores
Fraudsters got 28 youths from Tamil Nadu to count trains and their coaches for eight hours every day for a month in Delhi on the pretext of jobs in railways. The victim youths did not even realize that they were cheated during this period. A gang of fraudsters duped victims of Rs 2.67 crore in the name of jobs.
The victimized youth were thinking that they had got a job
The victim youths were thinking that they have got a job and they are doing their duty. After receiving the complaint, the Economic Offenses Wing (EOW) of Delhi Police has registered an FIR and started investigating the matter. A senior police officer said M Subbusamy (78), an ex-serviceman from Tamil Nadu, lodged the complaint with the EOW. It has been said in the complaint that the victim youth kept counting new trains and coaches for a month between June and July. The thugs said it was part of their training for the posts of Traveling Ticket Examiner (TTE), traffic assistants and clerks.
According to officials, the students were introduced to the fraudsters by M Subbusamy. However, Subbusamy was not aware that he was introducing the youth to the fraudsters. He had given money to a person named Vikas Rana. He described himself as Deputy Director in the Northern Railway office in Delhi.
Most of the cheated youths are engineers
Most of the youths who have been cheated have studied engineering. Each of them had paid an amount ranging between Rs two lakh to Rs 24 lakh to get a job in the railways. No one was arrested in this case till Tuesday evening. Snehil Kumar, 25, a victim from Madurai, said everyone was trained to count trains at the station for various positions like TTEs, traffic assistants or clerks.
